Star Lantern Making Workshop for Community Members

Who: Participants ages 8+

When: Saturday, November 29, 10 AM-2 PM or 1 PM-3 PM in the AOA Twiford Room

Cost: $25 per person

Creatives and community members of all ages are invited to learn the process of making their own 30” star lantern. Take your lantern home, with the option of bringing it to participate in the Lights of the Albemarle Lantern Parade on New Years Eve in Downtown Elizabeth City, from 6-8 PM (additional details to follow).

Participants will needed to bring hand-held garden shears and plastic to cover the seat of their cars because the lantern may still be wet when the class is over.

Stay tuned for details on Elizabeth City’s first Lights of the Albemarle Lantern Parade, happening in partnership with Elizabeth City Downtown, Inc. on December 31st. Participants in these workshops will be invited to showcase their lanterns in the public parade.
