FREE THIRD THURSDAY JAZZ

The ECSU Black History Month celebration proudly presents Dusk 'til Dawn: The Journey of Black Music in America produced by Dr. Walter R. Swan, Director of Choral Activities and Vocal Studies at Elizabeth City State University. Listeners will be introduced to the early days of African-American music with field hollers and Negro Spirituals. The audience will become immersed in the totality of the Blues, Jazz, Latinx, Gospel, Hip Hop, R&B and Pop Music. Sewn in to the fabric of this musical performance will be spoken word poetry, rhythmic movement and video from various significant moments in Black American History.
