Visual artist, Karin Neuvirth, is best known for her textural acrylic paintings of wooded landscapes which she refers to as treescapes. Her current style of painting involves many layers of paint which she applies with a palette knife utilizing the technique of using broken color to create a sense of movement within her work. Color is the most prominent element in her work. In order to form a more thorough understanding of color, she chooses to mix all of the colors that she uses from only the primary colors and white.
Kay began to pursue her interest in art with mosaic tile, glass wall art, and painting in acrylic with a mostly primitive and folk art style. While visiting Key West in the winter of 2008, she was introduced to oil painting under the guidance of noted and published Key West artist Letty Nowak. Kay uses a limited palette of five colors plus white to capture atmosphere, light, and shadows.
John's interest in clay has always been in designing and making functional work. He wants the people who use his pottery to seek it out in their daily routines and build a connection with its aesthetic and usefulness in their lives. John has a great interest in ceramic history.
