Marilyn Heiser

"I started my career as a graphic designer but eventually moved on, vowing to continue to create art when I could. With no fine art training to draw from, it has been a journey of trial and error to paint what I see. I decided to just enjoy creating art and worry less about whether others will want to see it. I paint what challenges me and what I enjoy, hoping should anyone see it, perhaps it will bring them joy as well."

“I have been an artist my entire life.

Much of my work is whimsical in nature.

I am not a production potter in the strictest sense as we produce various styles of stoneware and earthenware pieces throughout the year. I like to explore different methods of firing and thus our products vary depending on the intended use of the piece. I like to say all our work is aesthetically functional, whether utilitarian or not. My education includes a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from East Carolina University and a BFA from Western Carolina University as well as a lot of trying and discovering.“

Here's a sampling of the lovely artwork in our Gallery.
