The 2026 Battle of the Bands will happen on Saturday, January 24th. Stay tuned for submission information.

Conceived in 2023, AOA’s Annual Battle of the Bands invites local and regional original groups to compete in a live face-off for a winning title and a prize that includes a recording session with Will Lane of Viking Sound Studios and a marketing package from the experts at Nicole J & Co.

This interactive event sees bands competing with their original songs, and invites the audience to join a panel of judges in deciding one winning band. The night also includes beer on tap from beverage partner Avdet Brewing Co., snacks and treats for purchase from The SweetEasy and Elizabeth City Pizza Co., limited-edition t-shirts for sale, and a performance by local original band Post American Gothic.
