At AOA School of the Arts, we ask that all students come prepared to move safely and comfortably. While each class may have additional or specific requirements, the following guidelines apply to all programs:
Wear comfortable, movable clothing. Avoid jeans, restrictive clothing, short skirts or dresses (unless worn with bike shorts or appropriate layers), and any footwear that makes movement difficult.
No Crocs, please. For safety reasons, they are not permitted in any class.
Ballet classes follow the dress code listed in their individual class descriptions.
Musical Theatre and Dance classes require comfortable movement attire, no jeans, and the appropriate dance shoes as specified by the instructor.
All students must have covered midriffs and refrain from low-cut tops or visible cleavage.
Hair should be secured away from the face so it does not interfere with movement or safety.
These guidelines ensure that every student can participate fully, move safely, and stay focused during class.
-
We ask that every child brings a water bottle, we cover all supplies unless listed in the class description.
-
We welcome students of all abilities and encourage families to enroll! We believe every student deserves the opportunity to explore the arts in a supportive, creative, and encouraging environment.
Because each child’s needs are unique, we use the first class as a time to get to know your child, how they engage in a group setting, and determine what support may help them have a successful experience
If additional support is needed for a positive experience, we will communicate with families. In some cases, this may mean a parent/guardian is asked to attend class to support their child.
Our instructors are committed to creating an inclusive experience for all learners; however, group classes are designed with one instructor supporting multiple students, and we are unable to provide dedicated one-on-one assistance during class time.
-
With the exception of our Tiny Tutus and Little Dancers classes, we ask parents to leave. This helps students perform better and focus more.
Parents who are interested in being more involved can inquire about available volunteer opportunities, and find steps to apply by emailing schoolofthearts@artsaoa.com
-
AOA members can use code: MEMBER10 to get 10% off their SOA classes. Become a member here.
