Elizabeth City Postcard Contest!

Create art that celebrates the excitement and beauty of Elizabeth City!

Submission Deadline Extended to MAY 31, 2021

Up to four $250 prizes will be awarded!

Visit Elizabeth City and Arts of the Albemarle have teamed up to create a campaign using original art that captures the excitement and beauty of Elizabeth City that will attract tourists. The winning works will be featured on Elizabeth City postcards that will be printed and mailed by Visit Elizabeth City as part of their new “Our E-City” campaign.

The winning artist(s) will have their name and credit printed on a postcard and win a cash prize of $250! You can submit art that you have already created or a new piece you've created for this contest. Some subject ideas include iconic imagery of rides at the Potato Festival, a night in Pailin’s Alley, or sailboats on the Pasquotank River.

The purpose of this art is to make a postcard that will be sent to potential visitors, inviting them to come experience our town. Think about what iconic scenes in Elizabeth City might inspire someone to come visit, visualize that in art form, and then create it!

Voting: Once submissions are complete, Visit Elizabeth City will choose up to 10 finalists. Arts of the Albemarle and Visit Elizabeth City will both host a voting post on their respective Facebook pages for public vote. The voting period will be in June (exact timeframe TBD) and winners announced early July.
